Sitting Open Houses to Generate Business

Imagine sitting in a chair with people coming to you who are looking to buy or sell real estate– this is the power of the OPEN HOUSE: you have lots of opportunity to practice talking about real estate and the market.

If you have your own listings, make sure you sit your own open houses. If you do not have listings at the moment, then try and sit other REALTORS’ open houses (busy agents are often looking for help doing this).

Choose locations that overall are easy to access, and direct your traffic to the locations by using well placed signs. The more ‘traffic‘ , the better!

Select your open house on a Monday in order to provide adequate time for advertising and neighborhood promotion. Make sure that you have compelling information to offer buyers and sellers at the open house.

CIR REALTY has a great video called ‘Sitting Open Houses that Work” in our online video library. If you are a CIR REALTOR, you can view it by logging in to your Virtual Office.

If you are not a CIR REALTOR but would like access to the video, email marketing@cirrealty.ca and we will send you the link.

Working With Builders: What Every REALTOR® Needs to Understand

For many Realtors, working with builders comes with a quiet sense of tension. The process feels different. Contracts are longer, timelines less certain, and leverage can feel unclear. That discomfort is usually attributed to builders, but it’s amplified by unfamiliar power dynamics. Builder transactions aren’t necessarily harder, they’re simply structured differently. And when Realtors understand the differences, they’re in a far better position to protect their clients and lead with...
