What Top Producers Swear By to Keep Their Business Running Hot

I recently had the privilege of sitting with our top 100 agents, and took away some really powerful thoughts. What their success comes down to is simple. Top producers are not winning because they found a shortcut. There is no secret sauce. They are winning because they’ve built simple systems and they follow them consistently. Not when it’s convenient. Every month, every week, every day.
It starts with one thing: CRM, CRM, CRM. Have one. Use it daily. Your CRM is not admin work, it is your business. Whether it’s Follow Up Boss, Lofty, Monday.com, or good ol' spreadsheet, the tool matters far less than the habit. Systems only work if you actually use them.
Strong businesses are built by staying connected. That means aligning yourself with your sphere of influence and communities you genuinely care about. Friends, charities, kids programs, sports teams, local groups. This kind of networking compounds over time because it’s authentic and consistent, not transactional.
Your tier one clients should hear from you regularly. Coffee meetings, happy birthdays, client events, popping by with a small treat, or sitting down for a proper home investment review. These touches are not “nice to have.” They are how repeat and referral business is created.
Time blocking is another common denominator. Top producers protect their lead generation time and treat it like an appointment that cannot be cancelled. They do the hardest things early in the morning while energy is high and distractions are low. Connections first. Everything else later.
And we asked them, if you had to find 3 new clients this week, what would you do? Open houses. Engaging your network. Open houses again. Connect with your SOI again. Old school still works. The fancy stuff is not the easy way out. I was actually a little surprised sitting in the room that not a single person had a fancy answer to this. The room agreed and went back to the basics, because it works, time and time again.
Finally, top producers treat their mindset like a priority too. Start the day early. Move your body. Get your head on right. Practice your gratitudes and affirmations daily. Write down your goals. Be honest about what you want and be unafraid to go after it.
No magic, just consistency.
